Bridesmaids
JENNIFER CHIU
MAID OF HONOUR
FIRST MEMORY:
“Guess I’ll have to share a room and bed with this girl I don’t really know on our grade 8 Ottawa trip” - Age 13
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
We have more memories than we can count, from sitting side by side in high school art class to being airlifted off a mountain in Jasper, and spending a night in a haunted hotel in Austria where we couldn’t sleep and ended up watching Japanese game shows together in a single bed.
TIFFANY KWAN
Bridesmaid
FIRST MEMORY:
”After-school hangouts, where we started a club with Samantha and our trio named ourselves “Soap and Bubbles.” - Age 6
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
From sharing a cabin and performing Oops!... I Did It Again by Britney Spears at Camp Hurontario in grade 3 to drinking bubble tea at Destiny Tea House till late night. Bonus memory: celebrating Songkran with water fights in the streets of Bangkok.
Samantha Ho
Bridesmaid
FIRST MEMORY:
“Shopping makes numbers and math fun” - Age 3
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
Sam always threw the best birthday parties in middle and high school, with amazing food and sleepovers that turned into fashion shows when we’d pull the guest room mattress off the bed to use as a stage. In elementary school, she printed our very controversial school newsletter, the one where we boldly declared that “boys smell like cheese.”
GROOMSMEN
Maverick Wong
GROOMSMEN
FIRST MEMORY:
“This University of Oregon badminton player has very spiky hair.” - Age 18
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
Fall 2018. After my bus from Allentown, PA to Manhattan was delayed, I was in danger of being late for a dinner date with a really cute girl. Maverick met me in person during peak rush hour at Penn Station so he could bring my duffel bag back to his place in the Lower East Side. I made it on time to dinner thanks to this best wingman. Fortunately, there was no second date, so I could meet Claudia all these years later!
BRYAN LAM
GROOMSMEN
FIRST MEMORY:
“Wow, this guy smashes badminton birdies really hard. Let’s play as a doubles team so I don’t have to defend his smash” - Age 12
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
August 2025. Attending Ichiro’s Number Retirement Ceremony at T-Mobile Park with Bryan and being featured on the recap video. Bonus memory, 2010, playing Age of Empires in our dorm room.
STEven IP
GROOMSMEN
FIRST MEMORY:
“Wow, I hate this badminton coach, all we do is 15 minute jumps. Eh, he’s kinda cool, he gives me lots of good food recs” - Age 13
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
December 2012. Steven used to pick me up from University of Washington on Saturdays and drive me to Seattle Badminton Club so we could coach together (and then drive me back). After one particularly long morning of badminton coaching, Steven and I took our students to Mcdonalds and challenged them to a McNugget eating contest. To this day, I still cannot feel the roof of my mouth.
Jason LAI
GROOMSMEN
FIRST MEMORY:
“This guy Jason is pretty chill, playing at a ClearOne tournament in Richmond BC”
- Age 13
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
May 2018. After studying and passing our temporary boating license exams, our jetski rentals in South Beach were rained out. We ended up playing Spades nonstop in Little Havana while pigging out on Cuban food. We were so desperate for “water sports” (and already in our swim trunks) that we hung out at the AirBnB outdoor pool. That was the first and last time I’ve ever swam in the rain.
EUGENE MU
OFFICIANT
FIRST MEMORY:
“Goodness, this guy really loves to play the Butterfly Lover’s Concerto during high school orchestra on his violin” - Age 13
FAVOURITE MEMORY:
September 2018. Facetiming while watching the US Open Men’s Finals together on stream. Even though he was a thousand miles away in Manhattan while I was in Tampa, I had never felt closer to my college roommate.
